Red Hat has announced an HCI for Cloud, an integrate solution to co-locate compute & storage functions in OpenStack environment. The offering combines Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 and Red Hat Ceph Storage 3 in a single user experience. Red Hat HCI for Cloud can benefit customers implementing systems for NFV infrastructures to deploy more functionality at the edge of the network. The product is planned for general availability in June 2018.
Red Hat HCI for Cloud is to provide a smooth customer experience and the primary benefits of the solution includes:-
- Unified lifecycle management – Creates a standardized private cloud building blocks and manged OpenStack & Storage as a Single Unit to maintain the configuration consistency across supported lifecycle
- Lower cost and greater operational flexibility -Allows organization to run a HCI on edge with industry standard hardware.
- Broader organizational efficiency -Using existing knowledge and assets while taking the benefits of OpenStack technology.
