VMware vCenter Log Insight v1.0 – Beta Available

VMware has announced the a new product of vCenter Log Insight v1.0 which is currently on the beta phase and its available to the general public to test and provide feedback to the VMware. It delivers automated log management through log analytics, aggregation and search, extending VMware’s leadership in analytics to log data. The product is expected to be available by Q3, 2013 and it has to be purchased as a standalone product which costs around 200$ per Operating System Instance (OSI). Virtual Appliance Requirements:

vCenter Log Insight v1.0 can be deployed on the host running ESX/ESXi v4.0 and vCenter 4.0 Update 2 and below are the requirements of the Virtual Appliance

  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • vCPU: 2 vCPUs, 1GHz each
  • Storage space: approximately 140GB
